Down the line, they might pair off Asa and Ruka as well, since they have similar skills and from what I can tell are amazing performers. I heard Jennie didn't want to be a rapper, and is now dissatisfied with herself because she may have squandered her abilities as a singer, hopefully Chiquita will be without regret. I also think hip-hop songs from this era are quite timeless and will resonate with a large audience, if produced well enough.įor the members, I think there'll be five vocalists (Rora, Haram, Pharita, Ahyeon, and Chiquita) and four rappers (Asa, Ruka, Ahyeon, and Chiquita), even though Chiquita expressed that she wasn't really much of one, and I think it's to push the whole Chiyeon, new JenLisa narrative. I read a post on the old Babymonster Subreddit, r/YGNGG, and supposedly said there was a leak that their music would be influenced by Hip-Hop from the 90s to 2010s and R&B, and I believe it since it matched what was played in their first announcement video and many of their dance practices including the, "Jenny from the Block" and the 2ne1 mashup dance covers. With the announcement of Babymonster's debut, what are your thoughts on how they'll sound like and which songs from K-pop will be similar? From what was announced, YHS says their debut would be an intense Hip-Hop song and from the discography of producers and songwriters working with them, it seems like they may have additional influences like R&B, Soul, Pop, Dance/Electronic, Rock, etc. Please correct me for any misused terminology, etc. Disclaimer: I am a very casual listener of music and have only recently gotten into K-pop because I got an ad for Babymonster's Last Evaluation series, but am now interested in whatever they'll have to offer.
